With 48% of our members donating to the GBRAR Community Service Fund in 2021, GBRAR is proud to announce that our local family of REALTORS® donated $40,060.00 to the Greater Baton Rouge Fund! GBRAR works with BRAF in determining organizations in which to donate community service contributions. In keeping with the GBRAR mission and area of interest in housing, economic development, and/or education in our community, the following organizations received funds from GBRAR through BRAF:
Habitat for Humanity – To support Habitat for Humanity Women Build
Habitat for Humanity of Greater Baton Rouge is a Christian-based ministry that builds and renovates hours in partnership with the community. They provide opportunities for families in need to purchase their own homes, build community and improve their lives.
Women Build Program through Habitat for Humanity empowers women to provide their families with a safe, decent, affordable home.
Life of a Single Mom – To support financial education.
The Life of a Single Mom exists to improve the lives of single mothers by providing support groups and education in 3 core areas: Parenting, Finances, and Health & Wellness.
Mid-City Redevelopment Alliance – To support Brining Homeownership to New Families
Mid-City Redevelopment Alliance develops and promotes the growth and renewal of Mid-City Baton Rouge by attracting new and retaining current residents and businesses.
Rebuilding Together Baton Rouge – To support Safe and Secure Housing – 576429
Rebuilding Together Baton Rouge is a nonprofit community-based program dedicated to helping low-income homeowners that are elderly or disabled, live in comfort, safety, and independence through volunteer repair of owner-occupied homes.
The Salvation Army – Baton Rouge – To support Pathway of Hope
The Salvation Army Pathway of Hope program is to provide the needed resources and support to help struggling families of our community take the necessary steps to rebuild their lives. The Pathway of Hope program benefits low-income clients by assisting parents and families in their pursuit of independence as they seek to obtain permanent housing, find employment, and create strategies to move from poverty to productivity.
Youth Oasis – To support Youth Homelessness
Youth Oasis supports youth and young adults recovering from the trauma of homelessness and family separation through housing, healthcare, and advocacy.
